the Brunch: Hash House a Go Go

The impeccable dishes at Hash House a Go Go can only be described as plentiful and seasoned to perfection. You can literally share any entree, due to the "run-eth over" servings. I had the pleasure of tasting there house Watermelon Mango Lemonade, Smoked Baked Salmon Hash, Smoked Baked Salmon Eggs Benedict and their popular Chicken + Waffles. Every bite took me to a place of pure satisfaction. I wish I cold bottle the happiness I felt with every spoonful I devoured. Luckily I took picks of every meal, just for you.

the Tasting: Filini Chicago

Filini Chicago has been on my list of restaurants to try and I finally had the pleasure to attend a tasting of some of there remarkable menu items created by Chef Carolina Diaz.  Chef Carolina is a genius, to put in frankly. I was in awe particularly of how she dyes here pasta with Squid Ink. Giving the pasta an intriguing taste, that awoken my taste buds from a dreary slump. Ha!  Everything from the delightful and hysterical gabbing with Kelly Kroyer (Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel Marketing Manager) and Starr (@ChicagoFoodieGirl) to the divine egg yolk + asparagus and "Willy Wonka" looking gelato sundaes were exceptional.  I hope you enjoy my many captures of the evening.

the Trimmer: Diptyque Wick Trimmer

I have been putting off buying a Wick Trimmer for years because I thought regular scissors got the job done (not really). Until.....I bought a proper Wick Trimmer and my life has changed forever. The con of scissors is that sometimes when the scissors aren't sharp enough, you end up cutting too much off the wick or bending it, which doesn't help the longevity of your candle.  Trimming the wick keeps the vessel clean (free of black smoke sticking to vessel..not pretty), allows for an even burn of your candle and puts off less smoke for a cleaner burn.  I like to keep my candle wicks trimmed about an 1/8 of an inch.

the Restaurant: CRIO

Ok, so its no secret that Crio is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. So, it was imperative for me to see how Chef Daniel of Crio, makes these amazing dishes.  It was humbling to be able to bring my camera in the kitchen of my favorite restaurant. It was also a delight to be able to share the experience with my friend Starr aka Chicago Foodie Girl. We had a blast shooting and eating, shooting and more eating, repeat. Ha! The pictures below are items you will find on the dinner menu and yes, they are as yummy as they look. If you haven't experienced Crio, then you are missing out on a "colorful vacation for your taste buds".
